What is a Saskatchewan Land Surveyor in Training (SLSIT)?
Having first obtained the basic academic requirements for becoming a surveyor (a Certificate of Completion from the Canadian Board of Examiners for Professional Surveyors), an applicant must spend a period of time as a Saskatchewan Land Surveyor in Training. During that time, the applicant works under the supervision of a licensed Saskatchewan Land Surveyor and learns the practical aspects of professional land surveying in Saskatchewan including the historical, administrative and legal aspects of conducting boundary or "legal" surveys and submitting survey plans for registration in the provincial land registry.
