Conrad was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on June 28, 1950.  He graduated from Shellbrook Composite High School class of 1968 and STI, Survey Technology in Moose Jaw in 1972.

Conrad has over 35 years of experience in the legal survey profession.  He articled to A.G. Reimer in 1978 and received his S.L.S. Commission in 1985 and Western Board of Examiners in 1990.

He started his career in the early 1970's with Canadian Engineering Surveys in Edmonton, Alberta and spent the better part of two years in the High Arctic and Beaufort Sea on navigation for seismic activities.

From 1974 to 1988 he obtained the majority of field experience as party chief for A.G. Reimer, S.L.S. and Leo Leduc, S.L.S. in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan (subdivision, right of ways, control, I.R. and settlement boundaries in Northern Saskatchewan, construction and re-establishment surveys).

From 1988 to 1998 Conrad was the manager of Saskatchewan operations for UMA Surveys and SESL Geomatics.  The main focus was oil patch and larger projects including I.P.L. Western Capacity Expansion - Hardisty, Alberta to Outlook, Saskatchewan, TransGas - Rosetown to Battleford, Saskatchewan, SaskPower - GPS Survey - Corridor Saskatoon to Regina and SaskTel FOTS 400 km+.

In 1999 Conrad founded Swenson Surveys Ltd., operating out of Unity, Saskatchewan.  The main focus being oil field surveys.  In 2003 he merged with Caltech Surveys, retiring in 2006.

He resides with his wife, Leta, in Calgary, Alberta.  Conrad enjoys a little bit of curling, golfing, skiing and traveling.  Conrad and Leta have three children, Bjorn, Melanie and Danielle (Chris) Purdon, and one granddaughter, Madeleine.
