A surveyor with the provincial department of highways for 29 years, Edwin Markham, 62, of 2336 Elphinstone street, died Wednesday.

Funeral service will he held Friday, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary's Anglican church, with Rev. J. W. Carter officiating. Burial will be in Regina cemetery.

Besides his wife, Mary Charlotte, Mr. Markham is survived by a son, William, and two daughters, Mrs. J. Connell, 936 Montague street, and Mrs. E R. King, Victoria. He also leaves two sisters and two brothers in England.

Born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, Mr. Markham was educated there and shortly before coming to Canada he was married to Mary C. Leafe, at Middlesborough, England. In 1915 he moved with his wife to North Battleford district and the following year he moved to Regina.

Mr. Markham was a member of Lodge No. 64, I.O.O.F. and belonged to the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors' association. He was a member of St. Mary's Anglican parish and took a leading part in church work.

Besides his wife, Eleanor, he leaves two children, Vernon and Ernest. He is also survived by four brothers, Martin, Mistatatum, Sask., George and Ted, Frankslake, Albert, 1201 Angus street; and two sisters, Mrs. George Marsh, Zehner, and Sister Carola, who belongs to an order of nuns at Grayson, Sask.
