  • Born at Hornby, Halton County, Ontario, on the 27th of November, 1882, the son of James and Eliza A. Lindsay.

  • Married to Brenda Denyes of Odessa, Ontario, on November 27th, 1912, who predeceased him on January 20th, 1920, leaving one child. Herbert Denyes Lindsay, now of 213 Bowood Avenue, Toronto, Ontario.

  • Received his Public School education at Hornby, Ontario, and High School education at Streetsville, Ontario.

  • Attended Milton Model School in the autumn of 1902.

  • Taught school at Nelson, Ontario, from January 2nd, 1903 until June 30th, 1903.

  • Entered the School of Practical Science in 1903 and graduated in 1907.

  • Obtained a fellowship at Toronto University for the 1910-11 term.

  • Received his D.L.S. commission May 18, 1911 and S.L.S. Commission July 10, 1911, and joined the S.L.S. Association March 2nd, 1914.

  • In the summer of 1905 he was in the vicinity of Calgary on D.L.S. work.

  • In the summer of 1906 in New Ontario on survey work.

  • In 1907-8-9 in Saskatchewan on survey work.

  • In the spring of 1911 he received the appointment of District Surveyor and Engineer, Saskatchewan Government, a position he held until his death on October 27th, 1923.
